OUR STORY

Buddy Boys Golf began in August 2024 when four friends—Doug Graham, Jamie Batchelder, Kenny Smith, and Buddy Clay—started playing Friday practice rounds together in preparation for the World Amateur Handicap Championship. What started as a few friends getting together to play quickly grew into something more.

The first Buddy Boys Golf event was held on October 4, 2024. The goal was simple: create a competitive golf experience where players of all skill levels could compete on a level playing field, while building the friendships and camaraderie that make the game special.

HOW WE COMPETE

We believe competition should be meaningful, fair, fun, and designed to give every player a fair opportunity to compete. All players are required to have a USGA GHIN handicap, allowing golfers of different skill levels to compete together on a level playing field. Just as important, win or lose, Buddy Boys Golf is about shaking hands, enjoying the round, and building friendships along the way.

We play by the Rules of Golf, with an emphasis on consistency and integrity. Our rules are intended to be clear and black and white, avoiding grey areas and keeping competition fair for everyone.

Weekly events provide the competition, while season-long points, podiums, skins, closest-to-the-pin honors, money won, and championship opportunities provide the reward.
